1. 5000 years old Varanasi, is one of the oldest inhabited place in the world.
Situated on the banks of river ganges, and represented in the Parliament, by the country's prime minister narendra modi. The holy city of banaras or varanasi, is at least 3000 years old. According to hindu mythology, lord shiva found this city 5000 years ago.
2. Hinduism, the world’s oldest religion, is the most popular religion in India.
Nearly 80% of the Indian population follows Hinduism. Islam is the second most popular (14.2%), then Christianity (2.3%), Sikhism (1.7%), Buddhism (0.7%) and Jainism (0.4%).
